Transport packaging makes un unmatched contribution to the product supply chain. Its first role is to minimise wastage and food damage along the chain. Studies show that without efficient and protective packaging, as much as 50% of food in developed countries would be spoiled! Corrugated packaging is an excellent solution to prevent this happening. But that's not all, the rigidity and lightness of corrugated packaging helps to really cut costs while guarantying maximum performance from the material, especially in terms of resistance to vertical compression. That strength to weight ratio is totally unique!
What are the most outstanding properties of corrugated packaging?
Corrugated is resistant to shock, impact, drop and vibration. It can endure the worse treatments without losing any of its incomparable properties.
In addition, its ingenuous construction provides remarkable shock absorption qualities as well as excellent thermal insulation.
Corrugated can be cut and folded into any shape or size for optimum use of space. Flute sizes and flute combinations can be adapted to meet any specific requirement. It has to be resistant but easy to open at the retail store.
Corrugated packaging can be made to any standard size but it can also be designed according to specific requirements. Corrugated packaging manufacturers offer a large range of sizes corresponding to sub-multiples of different size pallets. Decisions on packaging design are extremely important as they can influence considerably the total logistics costs (up to two thirds). For more information on packaging design go to the FEFCO Codes section.
Boxes have an excellent runnability on automatic set-up, filling and closing equipment, avoiding costly jam-ups and lost time. Corrugated is ideally suited for fully automated systems and therefore enables high speed filling in a very flexible way. Have you thought of the cost of packaging as a whole: including packing line efficiency, packaging waste on line and personnel involved?

CF standard provides stackability of corrugated trays and pallet load stability. The design fits standard industry pallets to avoid overhanging. Think about it: Easier transport & storage, Maximum protection, Minimum “shrinkage”, 100% Versatility.
