A clean new box each time

Corrugated packaging requires no washing or drying, thus no water or detergeants, in order to be safe.
Plus corrugated food trays are used only once, which can prevent the spread of contamination.

No cross contamination

Corrugated packaging poses no risk to human health, or to the products’ organoleptic properties. It protects all types of products from damage and waste.

Questions & Answers - EHEC Crisis in Europe

Corrugated board packaging has for many decades been, and still is, the preferred transport packaging for food products. More here....

Good manufacturing Practices

The International Good Manufacturing Practice standard (GMP), launched at the end of 2003, ensures that corrugated and solid board packaging meet all the requirements of quality, safety and hygiene such as exist in the food industry. Such a transparent standard, adapted to the material, also respects all its specific qualities (versatility, lightness, strength, recyclability).

Food Contact: self-regulation for the paper and board industry

The Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI) and the International Confederation of paper and board Converters in Europe (CITPA) have released the voluntary ‘Industry Guideline for the Compliance of Paper & Board Materials and Articles for Food Contact’.

The Guideline, which has been independently peer reviewed by PIRA International, offers route to compliance with EC Framework regulation 1935/2004, which covers all materials and articles which come in contact with food. It gives guidance to paper and board producers as well as institutions and public authorities in how to ensure that paper and board meets the quality standards appropriate to its intended use in food contact. This means it will not endanger human health by causing an unacceptable change in the food’s composition or deterioration in the way the food tastes, looks, feels and smells.
