A real Contribution to society

We often forget that packaging provides many benefits to society. The most evident benefit of effective packaging is that it prevents waste and allows the transport of goods even over long distances.
By preventing product loss packaging saves natural resources, helps to reduce waste and therefore the overall environmental burden.

In addition, corrugated packaging serves many functions. It is a means of delivering to a customer a product in good condition and it serves many functions:

  • Corrugated protects goods
  • It avoids damages and reduce waste
  • It contributes to delivering goods
  • It guarantees safety and hygiene
  • It conveys messages and information and help consumers make a choice

Corrugated is the N°1 Transport packaging in the world and it directly contributes to saving resources by allowing a much safer, faster and effective distribution chain.

The corrugated industry is concerned by the fact that corrugated packaging should fulfil its functions while making the best possible use of resources. The industry will continue to invest in R&D in order to provide users and consumers with more added value in their packaging solutions, and packaging that is based on a renewable resource.

Today Corrugated is a key component of our modern lifestyle and of every modern Supply Chain. It is a vital contributor to retailers' successful strategies.

The corrugated sector makes a significant contribution to Europe’s employment:

In addition to the various practical benefits, the corrugated industry creates a significant number of challenging jobs and offers real opportunities. Corrugated is everywhere!
In Europe there are 750 corrugated plants employing almost 100,000 people. They create economic and social benefits in areas where they operate and also in related industries such as paper and paperboard producers, converters manufacturing other types of packaging and recyclers too.

Imagine a world without corrugated?

  • Handling would be messy, inefficient and costly because products need transport and logistics packaging
  • Selling products through modern distribution channels would be impossible
  • Alternative packaging would not been able to perform the same functions as corrugated in the same efficient way. In most cases, alternative packaging is less space-efficient than corrugated due to wall thickness, weight and the relative low choice of sizes, which does not allow filling optimisation of the pack. This means the transport of goods would not be optimised.
