FEFCO recognises the great potential of the corrugated industry to improve the workings of the Retail Supply Chain, and strives to help bring value to the consumers. FEFCO therefore contributes to the optimisation of processes driven by some of the most powerful organisations in the supply chain.

We collaborate actively with all the actors and representative bodies of the retail supply chain, such as ECR (Efficient Consumer Response), Europen and CIES – The Food Business Forum, with its focus on Intelligent Supply Chain and food safety, as covered in the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). FEFCO supports the work conducted by EAN International and the Global Commerce Initiative (GCI) to define the language and identification guidelines of the trade.

Additionally, FEFCO is engaged in a dialogue with many of the European organisations focused on specific segments like the new European Fresh Produce Association covering the whole Fruit and Vegetable trade chain, food industry and brand representatives such as CIAA (Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries of the EU) and AIM (European Brands Association) and retail trade organisations, such as EuroCommerce and EHI (EuroHandelsinstitut). FEFCO is seeking to introduce the inherent advantages of corrugated transport packaging in the search for innovative solutions in the high priority supply chain sector.

The work of FEFCO in these areas is supported by thw main committees:
